How to start a private label spice brand
Bibhakar Spices, a Ghaziabad, India exporter and co-packer, packs private label spices in PET jars from 5 kg per product, with printed pouches and mono cartons quoted per design. To start a private label spice brand, choose your range, pack format and target market, approve samples and artwork, then place a first order.

What is a private label spice brand?
A private label spice brand sells spices that another company has cleaned, filled, sealed and labelled under the brand owner name. The brand owner chooses the products, pack and design; the co-packer handles the production. This is also called white label spices, contract packing or spice co-packing.
You do not need your own factory. You need a clear range, a pack format, label artwork that meets your market rules, and a supplier that can document where the spices come from.

Four decisions to make first
- Range: start with a few single origin spices rather than the whole catalogue.
- Pack format: jars for shelf impact, pouches for lower cost, cartons for retail display.
- Label language and rules: English, Russian, Arabic or Chinese, as each market requires.
- Documents: ask what the importer in your market needs, such as origin and registration details.
See single origin spices for the range and private label spices and co-packing for formats and terms. Payment and shipping terms are on the trade terms page.
Plan around samples and artwork
Samples and artwork approval usually take longer than production, so start them first. Begin with one pack size per product, check the label against your market rules, and agree the specification in writing before production. Our Quality Claims Policy explains how agreed specifications are handled.
